Anyone see the debunking of Homeopathy by MP's this week saying that the results were very subjective and mostly it was mind over matter whether someone was going to get better or not? (IMO homeopathy is a bag of sh!te and was created to fill a void.) Well talking about the role of any treatment being subjective what about that of Physiotherapy? Is it any better than homeopathy as this too is purely subjective - follow this scenario:
Homeopath: "Here Mrs Smith take these tablets [sugar coated with distilled water] and I'll see you next week"
Mrs Smith: "Thankyou Dr.".....
Next week:
Homeopath: "Mrs Smith how are you?"
Mrs Smith: "Much better the symptoms have all gone"
Now replace homeopath with physio and tablets with massage and you get the same answer - it is purely subjective. The treatment success is solely down to the patient report of whether treatment has worked or not. There is no scientific evidence from either party!!
Two things here:
1. If it works - brilliant what's the problem?
2. If you are going to get rid of homeopathy from the NHS then surely you would also have to get rid of physio as well?
